Founded in 1791 Girard Perregaux is one of the oldest, and most renowned watch manufacturers in the world. Here Tony's Timepieces has to offer a great 1950s Girard Perregaux Gyromatic encased in 18k solid gold.  The movement has been recently serviced and is running strong. The 18k gold case has hairline scratches and two infinitesimal nicks, but sparkles and is in overall good shape. The black gilt dial is in extraordinary untouched original condition with 18k gold hour markers. All letters on the dial can be clearly seen, and have not faded. The Girard Perregaux Gyromatic was first branded by the company in 1957, making this a very early gyromatic. The Gyromatic was an automatic watch that had two “Gyrotron” wheels. This made the watch wind smoother than an ordinary watch. Additionally, each wheel had seven rubies on it to protect the movement from unnecessary wear. This is an excellent example of Gyromatic from the period, and would make a wonderful addition to anyone's collection.
